What a year we have had…
Time to look back at our 2017 goals and revisit everything we have accomplished and celebrate those victories.
Don’t worry if there are goals on your list that you didn’t accomplish.
Sometimes our goals can change throughout the year when our attention shifts to something else, something bigger and better then we wanted before. Our original goals seems somewhat less important.
If our goals didn’t get an upgrade, then we need to step back and re-evaluate why we didn’t make them a priority. We need to learn from our mistakes. Don’t worry yourself too much though, that is what this new year is all about. New goals, a fresh start, a new you.
I sat down this morning and looked at my own goals from last year. I had accomplished some and had to step back and re-evaluate others. I had a change of career, which forced the goal changes. It made me step back and appreciate my previous work goals and how far I had pushed myself within the first part of the year to achieve them. When the shift of work came along, I had a looked at all my goals. This was my favourite time of year.
Fitness wise, I had set a few goals in place, I had accomplished some… Increase deadlifting weight, running 5kms every second day (I was never a runner, so this was huge for me), unassisted pistol squats.. Others I did not, swim once a week, smash out 10 unassisted and full range chin ups (I have got to 7 and still working on them).
My main fitness goal is always progress though. No matter what I attempt to do, I want to progress at that exercise. Dedication creates results, so without that dedication, we cannot smash those goals.
A big congratulation’s goes out to our girl Vicki Toomer who smashed out our 12week challenge. She has made goal after goal and keeps smashing them out of the ball park. She is dedicated to her goals and knows what she needs to do to achieve them.
Let’s do this together. Let’s make our new goals for 2018 and make this OUR year.
Happy goal setting, smashing and training.
